Vegetable Pulao
  • 2 Cups Long Grain Basmati Rice
  • 4 Cups Water
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 2 Cardamom Pods
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • Salt to Taste
  • 2 Medium Potatoes Cut into Chips
  • 15 Fresh Ivy Gourds (Tindora) Cut into Chips
  • 1 Small Onion Julienned (Thinly Sliced)
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Ghee
  • 10 Cashews
  • 1 Small Cinnamon Stick
  • 3 Cloves
  • 3 Pepper Corns
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • Pinch of Asafetida
  • 1 Tbsp Kasuri Methi
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tsp Grated Ginger
  • 2 Tsp Green Chilies Finely Chopped
  • 2 Whole Dry Red Chillies
  • 1 Medium Onion Thinly Sliced
  • 1 Large Carrot Thinly Sliced
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper Thinly Sliced
  • 1/2 Cup Frozen/ Fresh Grean Peas
  • 1 + 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder I am using Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 Tsp Kitchen King Masala if you don’t have this, then add garam masala
  • 1/2 Tsp Pulao/ Biryani Masala

Steps to make the vegetable pulao

Now, let’s get to know the steps that you have to follow for making the vegetable pulao. And when you follow all of these steps in the proper way, and then you will definitely cook yourself the best rice recipe. And the steps that you have to follow are mentioned here as in the following manner:

  1. The first and the foremost thing that you have to do is taking the basmati rice and wash them properly.
  2. Then take a pan and add ghee or oil in it. Once it gets heated, then add the spices and the vegetables into it. You can remove or add the vegetables as per your taste.
  3. And you have to sauté it until these vegetables changes their color to golden brown.
  4. After that you have to add rice that you wash and add salt according to your taste.
  5. Once you do that, then you have to add water into it. And you must have to remember that when you add water, then the quantity of it must be twice the quantity of rice.
  6. Then cover it with a lid on medium flame.
  7. And when the water soaks up completely, then you have to turn off the gas flame.
  8. At last your all time favorite vegetable pulao is ready to eat you can serve it into the plate and garnish it with some coriander leaves.
